Rebels seize Iraq-Syria border post
Fallujah, Iraq - Syrian rebels took control of the Albu Kamal border post between Iraq and Syria on Thursday, two security officials on the Iraqi side of the crossing said.
“At noon, the clashes began. And then in the evening, we saw the Syrian flag being brought down and the flag of the Free Syrian Army replaced it,” an Iraqi border police lieutenant colonel told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Another Iraqi security official at Albu Kamal said the post had been taken over by Syrian rebels. - Sapa-AFP
