KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini says the club is hoping to sign new players over the next two weeks as they prepares to defend their Premier League title next season.

Mancini says City is “talking to some players, but the market is not easy.”

The Italian coach didn't elaborate but City has been linked with Arsenal captain Robin van Persie, who has said he would not extend his current contract. Local rival Manchester United and Italian giant Juventus are also keen on the Dutch striker.

Mancini said Saturday that “maybe in the next two weeks we can do something about new players. “ – Sapa-AP
